NOTE: When I Start MS, I DROP my internet conection until the MS running. Then I put it ON the Internet.

Disable your net connection for a second (start > all programs > accessories > communications > network connections > right click the correct connection and disable).
Then run MS. Then GIVE IT A MINUTE! It will log into the program. Then re enable your net conection and use as normal.
Note: I tried to block MS's net connection with a firewall and it then started up fine too. But then you have to manually remove it from your firewall program as well, after MS has started up (to give back net access to MS).
